Soup Chef Perry’s soup was a HIT last week, so she’ll be making a bunch more for us! The soups are made with organically raised veggies from one of our favorite farms, Harvest & Blooms, and WCF meats. Here’s what you can find this week: • Roasted Pepper & Tomato • Minestrone • Curried Butternut Bisque • Bone Broth Pint - $4 or Quart $7 Pizza Dough Pizza dough by Chef Perry is frozen and can be thawed and ready to go when you are for $5. We tried it and loved it! We met the Umlands at Farmer’s Market, and are happy to carry their all-natural, gluten-free snacks for $3/bag in the store. Their Pure Dry cheeses are made from 100% natural cheese. Each type has the big, rich flavor you'd expect from Cheddar, Gouda, and Pepperjack cheese. Just like regular cheese, you can pair Umland's Pure Dry with beer, wine, smoked meats, and other cuisine. It is also great in soups, on salads or with fine chocolate! Learn more here. A new taqueria, Tacos Pepe, has opened in the old Smashburger in Montvale junction, and they have WCF beef & pork on the menu! Feeling adventurous? Try their famous Lengua Taco!
Nico’s Homestyle has our Beefalo burgers on the menu this week. Check them out – they’re right next to The Farmstand!
Maldener’s has WCF lamb on their menu this week. Chef Michael Higgins is always committed to providing local and sustainable products in his restaurant, and we’re happy to be expanding our partnership with him. More to come soon!
The Clover Room
Did you know we have some pretty cool gifts & jewelry @ The Farmstand? My amazing sister-in-law, Jenna, owns The Clover Room. It’s a small boutique inspired by Jenna’s little stylish Irish girl (my niece Nora!) It's where other stylish moms or those looking for a unique gift can find just the item they are looking for. She can custom make stuff, too! She makes some really neat “diaper cakes” for baby showers in addition to the headbands and jewelry you can find in the store. Youth Charity Horse Show
It’s our biggest horse show of the year, the Youth Charity Horse show! Chloe, Emmet & Finnegan will be competing this Friday – Sunday in multiple disciplines, all for charity. If you have a horse crazy kid, this is definitely a great time to come on out! Don’t have your own horse? Come out and let your little one compete in a “stick horse” class on Sunday! Read more about it here. Interested in sponsoring a stall or a class? There’s still time, and you can donate any amount! The recipient is Central Illinois Riding Therapy. Just contact us for details. The Farmstand Hours this Friday - 12pm - 5pm Due to the horse show, Shannon from Clarity Homestead will have The Farmstand open Friday from 12-5pm. We WILL be at market this Saturday, but The Farmstand will be closed this weekend.
